5/20/09 D.A.R.E
I have learned a lot from D.A.R.E. which means Drug Abuse Resistance Education or the decision making model Define Assess Respond Evaluate. I have learned that drugs such as marijuana,tobacco and alcohol can not only hurt you it can hurt others. I've also learned 5 ways of getting out of risky situations.
1)saying no
2)giving a reason or fact
3)changing the subject
4)repeated refusal
5)use humor
Did you know alcohol slows down the brain and body. Mixing alcohol with medicine is dangerous. Most teens don't drink alcohol In D.A.R.E. we put on goggles that made our vision look like a drunk and I want to never want to be like that.
Did you know tobacco makes your teeth yellow and have bad breath. It will also dry your skin out. Anyone under the age of 18 is illegal to sell tobacco.
I pledge to never smoke or chow. I also pledge to call my parents if I am drink. D.A.R.E. is one of the most funnest things I've done and I think I learned a lot.
5/11/09 should Endings be Happily Ever After? I do not think all endings should have a happily ever after. Some do like if you are telling a story to a 2 year old you don't want to say that the princess got shoot and died they don't want to hear that. If you want to writing for older kids you can do that. Although if you did it all the time it would get boring. Some stories mean more if a main character dies. Althoughthe readers might not like it but it is the way it has to be. I would like to see the bad guy win. Every body wants the good guy to win but what if the bad guy has a butter plan. think of it if the good guy wins the bad guy Loses If the bad guy wins the good guy loses. so in the ind some body always loses. Do they? What if every body compromises and they all win What a ending and no body loses.
